Loy V. Burton aged 78 of Coal Hill died May 10 at the Johnson County Regional Hospital
He was a retired coal miner and farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Johnnie Burton; one son, Maxie Burton of Hartman; one daughter, Deloris Stepp of Hartman; one brother Ishmal Burton of Alaska; two sisters, Arine King of Poteau, Okla,, and Dorthiel Goodin of Little Rock, eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at the Fernwood Assembly of God Church with Rev. Oren Bridges and Rev. Richard Birdsong officiating.
Burial was in West Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were David Zeiler, Richard Vaughn, Billy Birdsong, David Payne, Danny Goodin, Archie Faye Hurst; and honorary, Rev. Powell.
