Is it possible that the grave headstone inscription is actually 1778, and not 1827. That would make Stephen Crane almost 82 years old at the time of his death, not 32 years .
That would make sense since Stephen Crane married "Polly" Enyart on 25 May 1809 in Butler County, Ohio.
This would also explain why these children born before 1827 would be his children.
Because Stephen Crane could not be the spouse of Mary Ann "Polly" Enyart if he was born in 1827.
It just make common sense since it is so difficult to read the Headstone.
Please analyze this information.
Family Search site has Stephen Crane born 6 March 1860 in Newark New Jersey, died 24 February 1860 in Monroe, Ohio.
Sincerely
