On October 18, 1944 she married August Mickevicius in Detroit and he preceded her in death on July 17, 2000. Dorothy worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant during the Rosie the Riveter Era and retired from Warner Lambert in 1986. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Milan, St. Dominic's of Clinton, Ladies Altar Society and Council of Catholic Women.
Survivors include her nine children Bob (Joan) of Kalkaska, Michael (Barbara) of Southfield, Virginia (Donald) Liss of Fort Myers, FL, Rosemary (David) Chaves of Fort Meyers, FL, Dorothy(Amrhein) Mickevicius of Novi, August, Jr. (Teri) of Clinton, Pat of United Kingdom, Diane (Steve) Kuebler of Winchester, VA and Ted (Cynthia) of Alexandria, VA, 16 grandchildren; Leenette (Steve), Christopher, Eryn, Miranda, Anthony, Dyelle, Kathryn, Jennifer, Alissa, Lauren, Megan, Ryan, William, Stephanie (Chris), Alexis and Olivia, three sisters Agnes Jaworski, Irene Piastowski, Rita Pappas and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband August, one brother, four sisters and a grandson Jonathan
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 2-8pm with a rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00pm on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Milan where she will lie in state from 1:00pm until time of service. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Augusta Twp. Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or St. Dominic's of Clinton
