Funeral services for James Omer Burnett Sr., 72, of 4209 Lowman, will be at 4 p.m. today in the Cage-Mills Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Fink, pastor of Bethany Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Burnett died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Hamilton County, he had lived in Corpus Christi since 1939. He was a building contractor and a member of Bethany Christian Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, James O. Burnett of Brownfield and E. Wayne Burnett of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth B. Young of Norman, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Russell of Benjamin and Mrs. Rilla Thompson of Odessa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Teddy Burnett, Kyle Burnett, Kenny Young, Jerry Don Young, Jimmy Chambers and Billy Dupont.
