"JOHN W. MCGILL SUCCUMBS

John W. McGill, 1306 F Street, died at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday at Dunn Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted Feb. 18 with a broken hip.

He had been in failing health the past year.

He was the son of Daniel and Susie Barrett McGill. Mr. McGill was born Oct. 13, 1881 at Owensburg. He was a roofer and sheet metal worker.

He married Laura Sease Knoy in early life in Bedford. She died on Dec. 8, 1960.

Survivors include two daughters, Miss Eva Bell McGill, at home; and Mrs. Barney (Josephine) Gassaway of Bedford; five sons, Walter, Leo, Robert, Joseph, and James McGill; all of Bedford. Ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Grover (Katherine) Wright of Bedford, R.R.1, a brother, Otis McGill of Bedford, several nieces and nephews, also survive.

In early life, he joined the Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ferguson - Lee Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth McKenzie, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at any time."
