Ralph E. Gilmore, was born March 8, 1919, in Oklahoma City, to Lawrence A. Gilmore and Echo E. Porter, and died October 27, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Ralph attended Central High School and graduated from Oklahoma A&M. During World War II, Ralph served in the Air Corps as a Captain in the Flight Engineering Department. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 20 years of service. The church and the people in it were a very important part of Ralph's life. He was active in church and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Ralph and Melba attended Meridian Avenue Baptist Church.

His parents, brother, Albert, nephew, Robert, and granddaughter, Gay Lyn, precedes Ralph in death. Survivors include his wife, Melba; son, Edwin and wife, Debbie of Tampa, FL; sister, Echo Wilson of Oklahoma City; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2002, at Rose Hill Burial Park. Smith & Kernke Funeral Directors.
