Henderson, TN - Freddy T. Melton, 54, partner in the D&S Western Store, died Monday morning at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home with burial in the Chester County Memory Gardens.
He was a member of Sanford Hill Baptist Church, a supporter of the West Tennessee Junior Rodeo and was an accomplished rhythm guitarist, having appeared on the Grand Ole Opry and the Louisiana Hay Ride.
Melton, the husband of Cherry Mount Melton, also leaves a daughter, Mrs Lana Pitts; two sons, Don Melton and Jimmy Melton, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Melton, all of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lee Bishop of Bolivar and Mrs. Virginia Burress of Henderson; and a brother, David Melton of Ocala, FL.
