Vera May Adcock, 95, of Achison, KS, formerly of Everett, passed away Friday, at the Atchison Hospital.
She attended the Pardee School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1933. Upon graduation, Vera May attended Mt. Saint Scholastica College and taught for 4 years at the Bell School in Lancaster. She later graduated from Emporia State University in 1962 with a degree in Elementary Education. Vera May also taught at the Martin East Grade School in Atchison for 23 years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Society for Teachers and the 20th century Club of Lancaster. Vera enjoyed traveling the world, gardening and fishing.
She married John Adcock on September 4, 1940 in Atchison, KS, at the First Christain Church. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1960. She was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Higley; sister Lola Dexter and a grandson Timm Madison.
Survivors include two sons; two daughters, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services was held at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Rev Lou Davies officating. memorials are suggusted to the Lancaster United Mehodist Church.
