Arlene L. (Phillips) Edson, age 92 years, of Lakeville, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Island Terrace Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Minot Edson. Born Friday, Nov. 22, 1918, in West Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Grace (Smith) Phillips. Arlene was born and raised in West Bridgewater and in 1971 retired to Wareham and wintered in Englewood, Fla., and enjoyed the past four years at Island Terrace Nursing Home. In 1942, she was one of the original members of the West Bridgewater Mothers Club. She was also a longtime member of Cochesett Methodist Church in West Bridgewater. She is survived by three children, Dorna L. Bevis and her husband Robert of West Bridgewater, Dianne G. Dudley and her husband Albert of Carver and Donald M. Edson and his wife Sherry of Brookline, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also the sister of Margaret (Maggie) Silva and her husband Edward of Raynham, Judith Jones of Michigan and the late Evelyn Horton. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home, 647 Main St., Brockton. Visitation will take place one hour prior Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater.
