Harry L. Way, 95, Toulon, formerly of Delong, died at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002 at the Toulon Health Care Center. He was born March 26, 1906 in Hermon to Irvin and Nellie Eckman Way. He married Marie G. Ferris on Oct. 8, 1925 in Burlington, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 1993. He is survived by two daughters, Willodean (Bernard) Bhear of Toulon and Connie (Harry) Gray of Galesburg. Also surviving are one sister, Frances Lynch of Indiana; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. He attended Delong Schools and farmed in the Hermon and London Mills area for 45 years before retiring Jan. 1, 1971. He moved to Delong in 1971 and later to Toulon in 1989. He was a former member of Modern Woodman of America. Services were held on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with the Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating. Burial was in Haynes Cemetery near Delong. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
