Alma Cooper & Alvie Lindsey (Twins)
A reception honoring Alvie Lindsay and his twin sister Alma Cooper on their 80th birthdays, will be held Sunday in the Highland Manor community room from 2 to 4 p.m. The twins are the oldest of seven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Odis (Cora Bell Hurst) Lindsay in Owensboro, Ky. the twins were born Jan. 21, 1909. The family moved to Chrisman in 1914 and they finished grade school before moving to Paris, where Alma has resided since. They have two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Vada Mitchell) Murphy of Vinceenes, Ind., and Frances Callahan of Jacksonville. Alma married Coy Cooper in 1944 and she has one daughter from a former marriage, Mrs. John (Pat) Hittle of Paris, a granddaughter, Mrs. Brad (Jeri) Bone and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsey, all of Champaign, and several step-children and step-grandchildren. Alvie was married to Ruth Groves in 1932 and was a truck driver for Moormans Feed until 1976 when he retired. They were living in the Newton area and moved to Charleston in 1984. They have one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Michelle) Buerster and three granddaughters, Vicki, Paula and Lindsay, all of Charleston. All relatives and friends are invited to the reception. Mrs. Alma E. Cooper, 84, 614 E. Blackburn, died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday (Feb 2) at the Paris Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home
