She was born on June 27, 1943, in Gary, to the late Edward and Mary Nickel Bunnell.
On Nov. 4, 1961, she married Paul Aguilar in Gary, and he died March 7, 2008.
Mrs. Aguilar worked for Lil Champ convenience store and Winn-Dixie grocery store both in Jacksonville, Fla.
She was a member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and bingo.
Surviving are two daughters Nancy Gushwa (husband: Jeff) of West Lafayette and Tammy Aguilar-Thomas (husband: Bruce) Jacksonville, Fla.; two sons, Paul Aguilar Jr. (wife: Dalal) and James Aguilar, both of Lake Station; a brother, Terry Bunnell (wife: Nikki) of Union, Mo.; and sister, Tina Meentemeyer (husband: Glen) of Lake Station.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West. Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Fr. David Buckles officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
