MARCOLA — A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Marcola Christian Church for Helen Elizabeth Anderson of Marcola, who died May 2 of age-related causes. She was 89.
She was born March 4, 1922, in Junction City to Charles and Elizabeth Adams Carson. She married James Anderson on July 3, 1942, in Mabel, Ore. He died previously.
She graduated from Mohawk High School in 1940 and attended beauty college. She worked as a beautician and owned her own shop. She worked as a cook's helper at Marcola Elementary School.
Survivors include two sons, Kim of Buckley, Wash., and Ken of Marcola; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. One great-grandchild died previously.
Burial will be at Eugene Pioneer Cemetery. Arrangements by Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield. Remembrances to Signature Hospice or Marcola Christian Church.
