Daughter of R.W. Nelon and Annie Mae Conner Nelon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Henry Owensby. Also preceded in death by two sisters: Martha Pauline Nelon Dotson and Geneva Nelon Wilson; five brothers: Claude, Sidney, Ernest, Edward and Richard Nelon.

Rosa was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church and had served as a choir leader.

Funeral May 4, 2011 at 2 PM, Cane Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Internment in church cemetery.
