Remsen - George H. Ingersoll, 71, Remsen, died unexpectedly Jan. 15, 1942, in his home.
He was born in the Town of Remsen, son of John and Dorothy Lusher Ingersoll.
In 1914 he married Laura Hughes, who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Hilfiker, Webster and Mrs. Albert Baker, Rome, a son Clarence, Rome, six brothers, James H., Remsen, Gerene, John, Andrew and Matthew all of Steuben and Edward, Utica, and three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Williams, Remsen; Mrs. Elizabeth Fretz, Canastota, and Mrs. Dora Jones, Utica.
The funeral will be a 2 p.m. tomorrow from the Griffith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Utica Daily Press

Note: His obit says his middle initial is H. the stone says W. His death was a tragic suicide. I have the article. The obit was in January 1942; the stone gives year of death as 1941.
