Direct ancestor of mine:

Second child of Charles Edward and Jessie Melinda (nee Owens) Walker. Wife of Frederick Joseph Laubert.

Grandma "Lizzie" "Lizzy" was the proud mother of 10 children.
Family and Grandchildren have fond memories of going, "over the river and through the woods" to her pretty pink house in Vienna, MO to visit - especially for Thanksgiving. Many Grand kids recall with fondness waking up before dawn to the sounds of the women having coffee and talking. So much home cooked food and scrumptious pies - especially the blackberry and tall lemon meringue pies! Many in the family adorn their home or yard with large Ferns to this day like she had in the sun room off the kitchen and at the end of her driveway.

She truly loved little children. She was always so happy and smiling when we would come up to visit her. As a little girl, I recall with fondness how "Grandma Laubert" softly greeted us with a warm smile. I never heard her raise her voice at any time when all the families were together up in Vienna, MO visiting. I am so blessed to have known My Grandma.

A soft, kind hearted women - whose name Elizabeth has been passed down to many women in the family.

Buried in Visitation Catholic Cemetery with her husband, Frederick, and next to their sons - Wayne, who was KIA in WWII., son Eugene, and near their other son, Leroy.

Her precious grandchildren:
Denise L. Birtley - Find A Grave Memorial# 81264309
John Wayne Lewis - Find A Grave Memorial# 60290756
========

Noted in the 1900 U.S. Federal Census - Her name is spelled Elisabeth. Grave marker is spelled Elizabeth.
