Alice passed away Monday, April 25, 2011, at North Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Lakeview Funeral Home of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Alice Hattie Marie (Brockmann) Hagen was born Dec. 31, 1925, in rural Fairmont. She was the seventh of eight children born to William and Ida Brockmann. Alice attended school in Silver Lake Township and worked at Peerless Laundry for a number of years.
On June 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Norman Hagen and lovingly managed the family and home for the past 54 years. She found great pleasure in the very simplest things in life and showed others how to do the same. Alice was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Norman Hagen of Fairmont, Minn.; sons, Ken Hagen and his wife, Ophelia, of Boise, Idaho, and Roger Hagen and his wife, Ann, of Liberty, Mo.; she was the proud grandmother of Andrea, Alison, Bradley, Cailey, and Zachery; three great grandsons; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, William and Ida Brockmann, Alice was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Albert, Rudy and Adolph Brockmann; and sisters, Louise Doxsee, Elsie Rose, and Violet Brockmann.
