Evelyn Ruth Mattingly, 93, Mooresville, formerly of Wilbur, in St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville. She was born to the late Norval and Doris Edith (Thrasher) Gibbs. Evelyn was a previous member at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Mooresville. She enjoyed watching television and playing cards and bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Franklin Mattingly, who she married June 22, 1935; sons, Tommy and Roy Mattingly; sister Erma Gibbs. Survivors include her son, Bernnie Mattingly (Vicky) of Wilbur; daughters, Doris Hooper (Ralph) of Florida, Mary Davis (David) of Mooresville; daughter-in-law, Jane Mattingly of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Services were held May 6, 2011, at the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling prior to the service. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
