Married 1st Christina Van Alen 2nd Katherine Knickerbocker.
Apparently he was first buried in a little burying ground on the farm which he had a few years before had bought off the Hoffmans. This farm is located in the Town of Amenia, Dutchess County, NY and was formerly owned by Nicholas and Philip Hoffman.
Then in the Kinderhook cemeteyr will be found in the Thomas Van Alstyne plot in the West or new side of the cemetery is a large stone errected in 1895 to his direct ancestors. In this plot is a brown slab evidently not in ita original place, with the identical inscription quoted from the stone on the farm.
The conclusion is that Thomas in gathering his ancestors had removed the brown lab of William and possibly his remains from its original location.

Revolutionary Service records - Served as an officer in the Colonial Wars, enlisted in the Revolution as a Private. He was born in Hudson and died in Amenia.
Served in the Eighth Regiment, Albany County Militia under Colonel Van Rensselaer.
