Arthur was the son of Fred Elmer Coward Sr. and Moody Parker of Waynesville,NC. Arthur was raised in Jackson Co NC on Caney Fork. His grand parents Johnathan H. Coward and Julie Lovedahl are all buried in the Lower Coward Cem. His GGGrandfather was James Coward. Arthur was retired From the USN serving during WW11 ,Korean Conflict,serving 21 yrs. Married Bonnie Sara Rhinehart Coward May 29, 1942 loving wife. Three daughters Glenda Faye, married Raymond Davis, Evelyn Carleen married Mack Riddle and Ann Henderson. He had 5 grand children. Sherry Davis Noto. Lori Davis-Peterson, Raymond O. Davis Jr., and Jeffery Scott Davis, and Lisa Riddle Packer. He was a Mason belonging to the West Asheville Masonic Lodge 665 and VFW post 8087 Eustus Fla. While living in Leesburg Fla. He be came a master fisherman and boating was his hobby.He had seven great-grand children.
