She was born May 11, 1866, in Jefferson county, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Gregg. Until ten years ago she resided on the Himes farm, still located in Eldred township on the Olean road, between Corsica and Sigel. She was a member of the Fiscus Roman Catholic church at Sigel and attended the SS. Peter and Paul's church in Jamestown. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Society at Buffalo, and the Sacred Heart.
Her husband, the late L. W. Himes, died 25 years ago.
Surviving are 3 sons, Charles Himes, Jamestown; W. O. Himes, Oil City; Louis Himes, Oklahoma City, OK; seven daughters, Mrs. H. B. Howland, Kennedy, NY; Mrs. L. C. Gregory, Mrs. Ralph Brake, Mrs. Raymond Pangborn and Mrs. Lee Myers, all of Jamestown; Mrs. Emil Helmich, Buffalo, and Mrs. Scott Stover, Bradford; 26 grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Katherine Jones, Conneaut, OH.
Another son, Solomon Himes, died in 1922, and a daughter, Lavella, died in childhood.
Friends were received at the home in Jamestown until 6 o'clock this morning when the remains were brought to Sigel for funeral services and burial. Requiem High Mass was to be said by Rev. Father Wagner in the Fiscus church at 10 o'clock this morning. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
