CALVERT CITY, Ky.--Services for Herman B. Jones, 74, of Calvert City will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Collier Funeral Home in Benton. The Rev. Roy Brown and the Rev. Mike Donald will officiate. Burial will be in Calvert City Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died at 11 a.m. Tuesday at his home.

A retired equipment operator, he was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local 181.

An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, Mr. Jones was a member of the American Legion post of Calvert City and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a 50-year member and past master of Calvert City Masonic Lodge No. 543.

He was a member of Altona Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Sarah Smith Jones; one daughter, Cheryl Jones of Benton; four sons, Craig Jones, Doug Jones and Lynn Jones, all of Calvert City, and Tom Jones of Benton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. His parents were Wade and Laura Ferguson Jones.
