Ruth Evelyn Jones, 60, of rural Ewing, Mo. died Monday, May 19, 1997, at 4:30 a.m. in her home.
Mrs. Jones was born August 25, 1936 in Odell, Ill. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of Martin and Mabel Heckendorn Lund. She married LeRoy G. Jones Feb 8, 1956 in Steffenville, Mo. He survives.
Mrs. Jones had worked for Harris Broadcasting for 28 years and was a membef of the Quarter Century club, a member of Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church, Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years, and was secretary of Asbury Chapel U.M.W. of Steffenville.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Jones of Leslie, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Pamela) Farr, LaGrange, Mo., Mrs. Ty (Peggy) Courtney of Ewing, Mo.; four brothers, Howard Lund of LaGrange, Ralph Lund of Lewistown, Richard and Martin Lund Jr. of Bethel; two sisters, Bessie Stambaugh of LaGrange, Dorothy Jones of Bethel, six grandchildren, Gergory Farr, Tim Buchanan, Amada Lay, Melanie Jones, Sarah Jones, Ashlee Benner and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Lay.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Lund, and a sister, Doris Lund.
Services were Wednesday, May 21 at 2 p.m. at Asbury Chapel Methodist Church in Steffenville by Rev. Sam Wood. Burial was in the church cemetery, Ball-Davis in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Edward Stambaugh, David Stambaugh, Larry Lund, Harold Jones, William Jones, and Robert Jones.
