Orville Lee Askins, 82, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital.
Orville retired from Bucyrus Erie as a machinist. After retirement, he worked at Highway Machine in Princeton, IN. He enjoyed fixing things, and he loved to dance, roller skate and travel. Orville was a member of the Eagles and will be remembered for his hard work ethic and being a great dad. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII.
Orville is survived by: Daughter, LeeAnn Finch and her husband, Don of Evansville, IN, Son, Wayne Askins of Evansville, IN, Grandchildren, Erica Finch, Luke Finch, Companion and Caregiver of 21 years, Myrtie Nagel of Evansville, IN, Former Wife, Pat Askins of Sun City, FL, Sister, Dorothy Willett of Evanvsille, IN
Orville is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Loraine (Brenner) Askins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Browning Funeral Home 738 Diamond Ave. with Sister Michelle Willett officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2-8PM, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Browning Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Wednesday.
