In the 1860 US Census, Cyrus D. was a machinist in Bridgeport CT, with "Catharine" 26, and children "Elmore", age 12, Adelaide, age 6, and Olive, age 2. His birthplace was given as Mass. there, and as Norton, Mass, in his marriage record in 1852, to Catherine B. Tufts (daughter of Caleb). Both an older and younger brother (Dorus and Elmer Scott Alvord) were born in Black River, NY, so his family may have moved back and forth.

Isaac Alvord the junior (Isaac Dwight Alvord, b. 1805) was his father, Olive Weeks his mother (her parents, Samuel Weeks and Lydia Williams). That's according to the MillerM database at Rootsweb.

According to that same source, his brother Dorus Hayden Alvord (1826-1896), formerly of Black River, NY, returned to Williamsburg to live. Dorus was first a drummer and mechanic in the Civil War, 98TH N.Y. Regiment. He was also buried here in Williamsburg, as was their uncle, Jehiel Alvord (1810-1893) of Westhampton, a presumed bachelor who boarded with others rather than maintain his own house.

Paternal grandparents were Isaac Alvord the senior and his wife Sarah/Sally Barker, of Westhampton.
