Mrs. Rhoda L. McEwen, 70, of 1125 Mount Vernon Ave., Huntingdon, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 1979, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been in failing health for five years. Born June 21, 1908, in Walker Township, she was the daughter of Leslie G. and Florence B. (Lincoln) Smith. She married Robert E. McEwen in November, 1924, in Cumberland, Md. He preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1966. She is survived by three children: Robert E. McEwen, Jr., of Huntingdon; and Mrs. David
(Twila) Hollingshead and Edward McEwen, both of Huntingdon R.D. 4. Two children, Betty Jane and Donald, preceded her in death. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Meda Foster of Huntingdon; Doyle Smith of Huntingdon, R.D. 1; Mrs. Gerland (Lois)
Miller of Williamsburg, and Gail and Jack Smith, both of Huntingdon R.D.4. A brother, John, preceded her in death. She was a member of the 12th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She was also a member of the church's United Builders Sunday School class and of the United
Methodist Women. She was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas in the twist and ply department, retiring with 30 years service in 1971. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon R.D.4.
