DOWAGIAC -- Richard "Dick" Personette, 57, of Chestnut Street, died at home Thursday (March 10, 2005) after a brief illness.

He was born in Dowagiac on April 3, 1947, to Jonathan and Lucille (Henigsmith) Personette, who are deceased.

He is survived by a son, Trenton A. Personette of Niles; a grandson; five sisters, Donetta (Bob) Barnes of Goshen, Eva (Les) Ross of Cassopolis, Pati (Dave) Foley of Dowagiac, Gail (Charles James) Ross of Elkhart and Merri (Brad) Manley of Dowagiac; and three brothers, David (Sandy) Personette of Brilliant, Ohio, Terry (Sharion Greenleaf) Personette of Dowagiac and Chris Personette of Elkhart.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Unger and Rosalie Personette, and a brother, Michael Personette.

Friends may call Wednesday, an hour before a 3 p.m. memorial service at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home, 405 Center St. Pastor Don Damron of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Vandalia will officiate.

A lifetime resident of Dowagiac, Mr. Personette worked as a bus driver for Cassopolis and Dowagiac schools, a semi-truck driver and a security guard for several Elkhart factories. He was a member of Eagles Aerie No. 2441, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to country music.

Memorials may be given to the Eagles Aerie No. 2441 building fund.
