On April 12th, 2011 we lost Gracie Hope Armitage after a long and courageous battle. Gracie was born at Evergreen Hospital, weighing only 12oz's at birth. Gracie dealt with more health issues than most people see in a lifetime. In her short time her on earth, she spent the last 3 1/2 months of here life at Seattle Children's Hospital where she impressed many of the medical staff with her determination to live. The doctors would always enter her room with a smile and leave with a big smile but puzzled, shaking their heads saying, "she's a mystery, a very tough girl you have! She is amazingly strong and stubborn. Gracie does things her way doesn't she?" they would ask! Most of the nursing staff fell in love with Gracie; she was just so lovable. How could you not! Gracie loved bubbles, being in the swing, watching the Lion King and most "importantly" to her being held. The love, joy and strength Gracie had to give to this world can be seen through her twin sister Paylynn's eyes.
Gracie will always be in our thoughts, our prayers, and in our hearts. Gracie is loved so much by all; family, friends and even complete strangers that have never even met her. Time for God's miracle to come home to stay.

Gracie is survived by her parents, Chirstopher & Rebecca Armitage; sister, Paylynn; grandparents, Dan & Michelle Staal, Ray & Vicky Schliesser and Steve & Denise Armitage; great-grandparents, Roger & Beverly Staal, Neal & Bev Auman and John Armitage; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and "adopted grandparents whom she chose."
An open celebration of life followed by a potluck dinner will be held at the Washington Hotel, in Chehalis on May 7th @ 4:00, all are welcome. Donations in Gracie's memory are being accepted at the Washington Hotel, 545 N. Market Blvd, Suite 101, Chehalis, WA 98532. Also, an account has been set up at Chase Bank to receive donations in Gracie's memory.
