Robert Lee Edwards, M.D., was the son of Augustus Fulton Edwards & Eliza Hart. He received his medical degree in 1894 from the New York University Medical College, and returned to Darlington where he practiced medicine. He married Jennie Covington in 1900, and they had two daughters, Elizabeth in 1903 and Cornelia in 1905. The family then moved to Richmond, Virginia where he practiced as an EENT Specialist. He died in Richmond in 1913 of heart disease.
