She was united in marriage with James Elmer Funderburk December 21, 1942 in Steele, Mrs Funderburk was a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele and was employed as a sales clerk for many years at Larry Gammeter's Clothing Store.
Mrs Funderburk leaves four daughters and three sons-in-law, Lee Ilace and James Earl "Buddy" Bailey of Imboden, Mollie and Alfred Brownfield of Cedar Park, Texas, Mary Frances Funderburk of Steele and Carolyn and Louise Morales of Oxnard, California.
Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Funderburk of Elburn, Ill and Virgil and Bonnie Funderburk of Opelika, Alabama and Eleven Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her husband December, 19, 1988 and two children, a baby girl who was one day old in October 1927, and a son, Rufus Edward Funderburk, who died in 1931 at age of nine months.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 9, 1996 at the First Baptist Church in Steele, The Rev. Michael Funderburk officiated, and burial followed in Mt Zion Cemetery in Steele. The John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Jack Brooks, Eldridge Gray, George Cooke, Howard Burns, Dee Crews and Johnnie Carter.
