JACKSONVILLE Services for Alfred H. "Al" Abernathy III, 57, Jacksonville, are set for 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Thompson Funeral Chapel in Jacksonville with Rev. Leon Curry officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mr. Abernathy died Monday afternoon in a Jacksonville hospital after an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Nashville, and lived in Jacksonville 25 years. He was an employee of American Plasti-Plate in Bullard and was a member of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ann Abernathy, Jacksonville; a son, Richard Abernathy, Jacksonville; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Wright, Mrs. Tina Ellis and Mrs. Brenda Stolze, all of Jacksonville; a brother, and three sisters, all of Nashville, seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Bobby Eubanks, Donald I. Dennis James Dennis, Robert Dennis, Barry Bingham and Kenneth Hicks.
