Herman J. May of Titusvillle, FL - He was a veteran of the U.S. military during the Korean War. He settled in Ft. Lauderdale where in 1953 he met and married his wife, Joan, moved to the Cape and joined the Boeing Company and worked on the Bomarc Program at Patrick AFB. He moved to McDill AFB in Tampa, transferred to the Minuteman program in Seattle, then to Vandenberg AFB and returned to Florida to work on the Saturn and Shuttle programs at Kennedy Space Center holding technical, administrative and managerial positions. Herman is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan; children, Patricia, Diane, Russell, Michael and Henry and six grandsons. A funeral mass will be celebrated on May 12, 2011 at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Titusville. Published in FLORIDA TODAY on May 10, 2011
