We are saddened to announce the passing of Thomas William Bauer Jr., "TJ", at the young age of 19, on Monday, May 9, 2011, in a tragic motorcycle accident.

Born March 21, 1992, in Franklin, he was the son of Thomas W. Bauer Sr. of Wallaceville and Pamela Grinstead of West View, formerly of Franklin, both of whom survive.

TJ attended schools in Rocky Grove, Elkhart, Ind., and North Hills in Pittsburgh, where he graduated in 2010 from North Hills High School.

He then attended and competed his first year at Community College of Allegheny County.

TJ lived a full and happy life with many passions. He loved and played many sports including football, hockey and MMA. He was one of Pittsburgh's biggest Pens fans.

From a young age he was a caring and compassionate man with a smile for everyone, and he was always there for a friend in need, and always living every day to the fullest. He also loved the time he spent on his motorcycle, "Lemon Lime."

One of his many talents was being a gifted landscape architect.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving brother, Travis Bauer, 14, of West View.

He is survived by the following family members on his mother's side of the family: his maternal grandparents, Bill and Gwen Grinstead of Franklin; two uncles, Steven and his wife Frances Grinstead and their children Gabriella, Cassandra and Michael of Orlando, Fla., and Drew and his wife Shannon Grinstead and their children Grace and Caroline of Ashburn, Va.

Relatives of his father, Thomas Sr., are TJ's paternal grandparents, Irene Bauer "Gramma Rene," Ralph Black "Grandpa Blackie," Bud Bucholz (deceased) and Bill Bauer (deceased) of Wallaceville.

Also surviving on his father's side of the family are three aunts, Kathy and Bill Spencer, their child Fawn and their granddaughter Leila of Meadville; Diana and Eric Smith of Cochranton; and Karen and Don Cogley and their children Zac (Andrea) and Phil of Columbus, Ohio.
