Age 72 of Laurel, DE, died Monday May 9, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center Salisbury, MD, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Concord, DE. the son of the late Iva Bernice Waller and Avery Olan Adams. He was co-owner of Adams Oil Company in Seaford.

Marvin touched many lives and was loved and respected by all. He was well known for his outgoing personality, strong work ethic and love for life. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Marvin was a graduate of Seaford High class of 1956, and the University of Delaware class of 1960, and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church Concord, DE, he owned harness horses and was a part time farmer.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Wheatley Adams; two sons, Mark A. Adams and girl friend Lisa Johnson of Seaford, Todd D. Adams and wife Joanna of Seaford; a daughter Jill A. Skovira and husband Mike of Chester Springs, PA; brothers, Wayne A. Adams and Raymond J. Hitch of Seaford; sisters, Janet C. Maas and Delores E. Lloyd of Seaford; nine grandchildren, Ashley Bowman, Sara Adams, Andrew Adams, Lauren Skovira, Amy Skovira, Mason Johnson, Alex Adams, Tori Adams and Zane Adams; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Robert A. Adams.

Services will be Saturday May 14, at 2 pm, in St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, DE where friends may call Friday evening from 6-9 pm, and on Saturday from 12 noon to 2 pm, prior to the services. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Concord, DE. Rev. Diane Melson will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Concord United Methodist Church, 25322 Church Road, Concord, DE 19973.
