Louise was born on February 2, 1927 in Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Raymond and Ethyl (Wakefield) Wagner Sr. She moved to Newton, IL from the farm to live with her sister and started working at Norris Electric. She met Rex Hill McClane and they were married on August 21, 1949. Louise became a stay-at-home mother and was active in the PTO, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Louise and Rex were co-owners of the Royal Tavern in Newton, Illinois from 1948 until July 26, 1973 when Rex passed away. Louise became the sole owner and manager of the Royal Tavern and for the next 35 years, with the help of her children, she continued to own and operate the establishment, up until her battle with cancer forced her to close. She loved spending time with the patrons and considered many of them family. Louise was a die-hard Cardinals fan and would let anyone know it. She was passionate about all sports and loved the Illini, Bears and NASCAR. Louise survived cancer and passed her 'tenacious' spirit on to her granddaughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family. For the past two years, she lived with her daughter where she enjoyed reminiscing and making memories with her great-grandson.

Louise is survived by her daughter Barb (Dean) Kirts of Mahomet, Illinois; four granddaughters, Amie McClane of San Jose, California; Jamie (Ryan) Logsdon of Urbana, Illinois; Katie (Ramie) Clagg of Effingham, Illinois and Jenna Kirts of Mahomet, Illinois; one great-grandson, Brylar Logsdon; two great-granddaughters, Brystal Logsdon and Raya Clagg; and two brothers John (Sharon) Wagner of Newton, Illinois and Melvin Wagner of Urbana, Illinois and sister-in-law Mary Wagner of Newton, Illinois.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Ronald and Larry McClane; sister Evon Stapp and brothers Raymond Wagner Jr., Eugene Wagner and Gerald Wagner.

The family would like to thank Diane Conover and the staff at Farmer City Rehab and Healthcare Facility for their care and dedication, especially during her final months.
