31 years, 6 months, 7 days old on 20 June 2020 he will have been gone one day longer than he was with us...

Born Robert Edward Garver Jr. on June 5, 1957, at Paradise Valley Sanitarium and Hospital, National City California to Robert Edward Garver and Mary Louise (Ouellette) Garver. The same doctor that delivered his mom delivered Robert, Dr. John W Warren. Robert was adopted as a small child by J Earl McCormick.

He was raised in California and Hawaii, graduating from Moanalua High School, Honolulu Hawaii in their 1st graduating class of 1975. He was involved in Little League Baseball, Boy Scouts and was an acolyte for Saint George's Episcopal Church in Honolulu.

Robert's 1st job was a paper route with the Honolulu Star Bulletin. He worked at Pupukea Boy Scout Camp for 2 summers as a commissary clerk. Also had a job at Playworld in the Salt Lake area of Honolulu doing general stocking and putting together bikes. He had these jobs before graduating from high school. From there he went on to work at Pioneer Chicken also in the Salt Lake area. This was some of his best years, working his way up to assistant manager under Rodney, was there about 3 years 1973-1976. He quit because he thought he was going to leave the island with his family when they transferred back to the mainland in July 1976. Deciding not to move back he got a job with a fruit packing company.

Robert stayed behind finding it hard as we all did to leave the place we called home for almost 8 1/2 years. He stayed for about 10 months, returning to California in May of 1977 in time to surprise his mother on Mother's Day. (That meant a lot Robert and I will always be thankful for that day). However, the move back was a struggle for Robert and he ended up on the road with his Uncle John McDonald doing the carny circuit. Many adventures followed including a short stint in the US Navy.

When he was older he always tried to call me at the time of his birth 2:59 p.m. and when he was able he would send me flowers.

Robert married Dee McCleary, May 28, 1986, and had one child Amanda Nicole McCormick, the love of his life.

Robert died in an automobile accident in St Charles Missouri on Monday, Dec 12, 1988. He was living in Troy Missouri at the time of his death. He leaves behind his mother and father J Earl and Mary Lou Ouellette Garver McCormick, 2 brothers John and Michael McCormick, his sisters Laurie Boyle and Ellen McCormick, and also his daughter.

Although Robert was still trying to find his way in life, he had found companionship with Kathy Greber and her 2 sons Gene and Joey and was enjoying all the little things that life has to offer.

Robert was cremated and his ashes interred in the columbarium wall at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church, Poway CA. and he wouldn't like it one bite that I left him there. Took me 17 years to put you there, when we first got the cremains we use to put them in the car with us whenever we would go anywhere, it was heart-wrenching.

He was 5'9" had blue eyes and was right handed

Listen, I was here, and my life mattered...
