FRYE

Mrs. Mary Davis Frye, 73, of Winston-Salem, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at her residence. Born on Feb. 24, 1932, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of William Henry and Ada Chandler Davis. Mrs. Frye was of the Baptist faith. She retired from AT&T. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wade Frye Jr.; a sister, Helen Smitherman; and a brother, Buddy Davis. Surviving are two daughters, Linda F. Edenfield and Helen Nifong, both of Winston-Salem; four sons, Dudley Frye of Winston-Salem, Robert Frye and his wife, Jane, of Cleveland, Ga., John Frye and Mark and his wife, Tammie Frye, all of Winston-Salem; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lana Kite and her husband, Melvin, of Winston-Salem and Mae Britt and her husband, Bob, of Lexington; and four brothers, Bobby Davis and his wife, Toyce, of Winston-Salem, Tommy Davis and his wife, Norma, of California, Jimmy Davis and his wife, Danni, of Texas and Clyde Davis and his wife, Judy, of Carolina Beach. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with the Rev. Ottis Hurst officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Aug. 14, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103; or to The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem, 1700 Ebert St., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bruce Wilson for all his help during this time.
