Gossett and beloved father to Mildred Fontaine Gossett Snow, Charles Fleetwood Gossett, James Louis Gossett, David Andes Gossett, Wilma Anita Gossett Herring Hayner, and Dolores Gossett Gill (my mom). He was the son of David Wyoming Gossett and Lavinia Unknown. At the time of his birth he was born in Virginia but when the War between the States broke out his part of Virginia became West Virginia. Although I never met him, I feel as though I always knew him through stories my mother told and stories my grandmother told. He was much loved and always will be.
