Charlotte died of a stroke while pregnant with her second child.
Her only son, Hawley Otto Crippen, was given into the care of his grandparents Myron Augustus Crippen and his wife Ardesee Skinner at about 4 years of age who were living in California. His widowed father, Hawley Henry Crippen met and married Cora Turner and soon moved to London, England leaving son Hawley Otto behind in America.
In about 2010, one-hundred and eighteen years after Charlotte's death, J. Patrick Crippen had this plaque made and installed on Charlotte's grave.

Utah Death & Burial records show Charlotte was born in Bellevue, Ireland but I couldn't find a city with that name. The record states her mother's name was Sarah Ball from England, but it was probably Sarah Bell.
