In his History of Jefferson County, Wisconsin, J.W. Ott states,

'Mr. W.D. Bragg has quite an establishment for the manufacturing and repairing of wagons, carriages, and sleighs. He has a large business, the best equipment, the best evidence of which is the large number of wagons, carriages and sleighs in the county endorsed, W.D. Bragg made in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. This endorsement carried with it recommendations that few, if any, possess. He built the first brick house in Lake Mills. His wife, Almira Edgerton, is a descendant of Ariel Edgerton who fought in the Revolution.'"

Gravesite Details

The grave marker incorrectly indicates 1884 as the year of death. He died June 27, 1883 (rather than 1884) per the obituary ("Lake Mills Leader", July 5, 1883, page 3).
