He was born on 25 October 1933 in Los Angeles, California and was the son of Walter A. Burrows and Betty Burrows.
Aubrey graduated from Dorsey High School Class of 1950 and went on to USC to get his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
He served in the United States Air Force Reserve as an airborne radio mechanic and held the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He married Dona Marie Johnson in 1952.
In 1960 he was commissioned as an Air Force Officer eventually rising to the rank of Lt. Col. His last assignment was at Vandenburg Air Force base as deputy commander of the 6596th shuttle test group retiring in 1982 after serving 30 years.
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife of 59 years of marriage, Dona Marie (Johnson) Sloan, his children, Ken Sloan, David Sloan and Sharon (Sloan) Newark.
