Eunicia Phoebe JAYNE was the daughter of Luther Rice JAYNE and Susannah Phoebe WOODWORTH. Her mother died in childbirth at age 40 in 1866 along with her infant son when Eunicia was 10 years old. Eunicia's step-mother was Addie Edith (BARRETT) COLE JAYNE, the second wife of Rev. Luther R. JAYNE.
Obit: Painesville Telegraph-17 Mar 1938 pg 1:
"DEATH TAKES MISS EUNICIA JAYNE, 83:
MISS EUNICIA JAYNE, AGED 83, Who made her home with MRS. ADDIE NYE NORTON of S. Ridge. Rd., Perry. died at Lake County Hospital at 8:10 a.m. today. She had been a resident of Lake and Ashtabula counties all her life and was the second oldest member of the First Baptist church of Painesville. She leaves two sisters; MRS. L. T. CURTIS of Painesville and MRS. EDITH C. NYE of Perry; two brothers, ALFRED L. JAYNE of Painesville and FORREST M. JAYNE of Philadelphia, Pa. ; and five nephews and three nieces. Funeral services will be held at the Fiser-Materna Funeral home, Saturday, with the Rev. Roy. D. Wood, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home."
