Mrs. Anderson played a major role in the election of Jake Hines to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, organized the 1932 to 1942 class reunion for 36 Years and was past chairperson of the American Heart Association in Bulloch County. She organized the "Pink ladies" at Bulloch Memorial Hospital, had received a Deen Day Smith Award and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to Bulloch County in 1990. She also played piano at local nursing homes for First Baptist Church for over 35 years, was an honorary Sigma Chi Little Sigma and a Phi Mu Alpha Sweetheart.
Survivors include one daughter, Dale A. Deal, Statesboro; one son, Randy C. Anderson, Statesboro; one sister, Betty D. Campbell, Montgomery, Ala.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Statesboro with Dr. H. William Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.
