Beth Mitchell Howe, age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2011, surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was born March 5, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Walter Edward and Sarah Larsen Mitchell.
She married Floy Ralph Howe on October 9, 1941, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Beth graduated from South High School. She was a lifelong active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous positions, including a Genealogical Library Church Service Mission with her husband.
She was an accomplished artist and painted many wonderful oil and watercolor landscapes. She loved to work in her garden and took pride in her beautiful roses, often giving them to family and friends.
She worked at Castleton's Clothing Store in Foothill Village for twenty years. She enjoyed her time at the family cabin in Midway, Utah, loved to go on trips, and spend time with friends.
Beth is survived by her three daughters Sandra (Steve) Lambourne, Lynda (David) Harbertson, and Wendy (Gary) Graham; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and her three brothers, Richard J., Walter E., and Stephen H. Mitchell. Beth is preceded in death by her husband, Floy R. Howe; brother, Robert W. Mitchell; and sisters, Helen M. Moser, and Grace M. Wiser.
Funeral Sservices will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the Sandy Crescent Stake Center, 275 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Stake Center.
Interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
