Mrs. Juanita G. Evans, 65, of Smithfield Township, Huntingdon R.D.1, died Monday, December 3, 1973 at 9:45 p.m. in the Tyrone Hospital where she had been a patient for the past week. Mrs. Evans had been in failing health for the past two years. She was born July 25, 1908 at Elberton, Ga., a daughter of C. Earl and Rebecca (Evatt) Swords. She was united in marriage to James R. Evans on March 3, 1928 at Elverton. Surviving are her husband and four children; John Richard Evans, Huntingdon; Mrs. Carl(Edith M.) Snare, Huntingdon R.D.1., Thomas A. Evans, Fousetown and Mrs. Ronald (Jessie) Merritts, Huntingdon R.D.1. There are 12 grandchildren. The following brothters and sisters survive: Mrs. Chalmer (Milwee) Coy, Huntingdon; C.E. Swords, Jr. and H.V. Swords, both of Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Clara Oglesby, Mrs. Mildred Smith and B.C. Swords all of Elverton, Ga.; and Miss Edith Swords of Atlanta, GA. One brother preceded her in death. The deceased was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Huntingdon. She was first employed by the Seaboard Silk Mill at Elverton, Ga., and later worked at the Huntingdon Throwing Mill. She had been a resident of Huntingdon area since 1929. Interment will be made in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens.
