Mr. Ard, 61, died Nov. 28, 2003, at King's Daughters Hospital. He was born in Lawrence County on April 10, 1942, to Bertile Smith Ard and Carlos Ard.
He was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Topeka Baptist Church.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Connie Hill; his daughters, Debbie Reid and Angie Ard, both of Jayess; his son, Glenn Ard of Jayess; his sisters, Judy Belk of Citronell, Ala., June Cothern of Jayess, and Jackie Barclay of Pensacola, Fla.; and his brother, Jerry Ard of Jayess
