Mr. Smith was born in Scipio in 1876 the son of William H. and Emma Gould Smith. He moved to Auburn in 1943. He conducted a general store while in Scipio. He later was employed by C.G. Meaker Co. in Auburn. Mr. Smith's wife, Minnie Richardson Peckham Smith predeceased him in 1932. A stepson, Charles Oscar Peckham of Poplar Ridge; a sister, Mrs. Roy (Minnie) Sherman of Auburn, and two step grandchildren, Mrs. Joseph (Alma) Rice of Washington D.C. and Miss Eleanor Peckham of Poplar Ridge, N.Y. survive. Year was 1949.
Services for Glenn D. Smith, who died Wednesday evening in City Hospital, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Roy O. Sherman, 55 Park Avenue. Rev. Edwin Patmore, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Burial was in Ridgeway Cemetery, Poplar Ridge. Bearers were Elwood Stephenson, Lewis Holland, Alfred Simkln, Richard Brunner, Howard Wilson, and William Weaver.
