Carmel MS, parents Allen Major and Amanda Lavisa Miller McPhail of Prentiss MS, 2 brothers, Major Robert McPhail, Noah Holly McPhail both of Prentiss MS., 3 sisters,Ella Jane McPhail Roberts of Wesson MS, Dinith Lorenza McPhail and Tinnie Louezar McPhail of Mt. Carmel MS. (Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery).
Surviving was his long time wife, Janie Scott Lewis McPhail, 2 daughters Ruth C. McPhail Steffey of Virgina, Ruby Jane McPhail Lambert of Jackson MS, and a son, Allen Giles "Mac" McPhail,Jr. of Jackson MS, and 2 granddaughters, Phyllis and Donna.
He is buried beside his wife and with other family members at Lakewood Memorial Parks Jackson MS.
