In memory of Mary E. Steward who was born in Berlin Twp., September 11, 1934, and died of pneumonia at her home in Birmingham, Alabama, November 5, 1910. She was a daughter of Harry Jaynes, a pioneer of Berlin Twp., who came from Vermont when the country was new. She was married to Wesley C. Steward, a native of Berlin Twp., 56 years ago last March. About 40 yr. ago they moved to Alabama for the health of the family. She has visited her old home a number of times since. She leaves a husband, two daughters, one son and four grandchildren, all residents of Birmingham. Mrs. Steward was a life long Methodist, joining the church at Cheshire when young.

Died at her home in Birmingham, Alabama, after a brief illness of pneumonia, Mary E. Steward, wife of W.C. Steward, aged 76. Mary Ellen Jaynes, daughter of Harry and Almira Dickerman Jaynes, was born in Delaware County September 11 1934. But one other child in this home lived to the years of maturity, Daniel B. Jaynes, who preceded her by nearly three years. On March 29, 1854, she married Wesley C. Steward and to this union five children were born, two of whom died in childhood. In 1870, she, with her husband and three remaining children moved to Alabama, living in Bibb County until 1876, when they moved to Birmingham. The funeral was held November 6. Interment was in Oak
