"Doris I. Beckman, 69 of Coldwater, died Friday, Sept. 10, at the Community Health Center of Branch County, Coldwater.
She was born Feb. 4, 1930 in Montpelier, Ohio, to Russell E. and Effie I. (Gifford) Loomis.
She was a cook in a restaurant that she owned for many years.
She had been a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 51 consecutive years and was very active in all of their affairs. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, traveling, and cooking. Doris was a great cook.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois (John) Uhlig of California, and Shirley (Roland) Chamberlain of Albion; a son, Ray (Kathy) Beckman of Hillsdale, three stepbrothers, Ronald, Richard and Ramon Gifford, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert.
Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the Putnam Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may go to Coldwater American Legion Ladies Auxiliary."
